The idea is to invite the unsaved or non-church goers to fellowship with Christians. The only thing you need to tell them is: “You are invited to our home for a B-B-Q. Bring the whole family and you don’t have to bring a thing.” If they offer to bring a dish, ask them to bring a dessert. This way they will stay long enough to retrieve the dish that they brought the dessert in. You can tell them you are having live music that is fun and uplifting.
SAVED SOULS IS THE GOAL
Let’s go after the lost sheep!
In our travels, one thing we have found to be true, there are people who do not, for whatever reason, go to church. They have either stopped serving the Lord, were hurt and quit attending a fellowship, or they have just gotten off the path and are unable to find their way back.
The main purpose of fellowship in your backyard is to bring these people out of their homes and bring them into an atmosphere where Jesus is present and His Anointing can break the yoke of bondage. His Truth can set them free.
It is also suggested that you visit and invite your neighbors and let them know what you are doing. Advise them what time the music will stop so they will not feel disturbed or call the authorities when the music is playing. We will be sensitive and never play late into the night.
The Backyard B-B-Q is not confined to only backyards. We can play in city parks, community centers, even your front room, anywhere there is a place to plug in and fire up a B-B-Q. In some cities you may need a permit for public areas. You will need to check city ordinances.
If your church wants to do a neighborhood outreach with or without a B-B-Q, Randy Norton Ministries can set up in your church parking lot.
Remember we are not trying to build or promote any one specific denomination.
This tour is designed to build the Kingdom of God. However, if you are a pastor and would like to get involved you are welcome. Any new converts will need a Pastor to help them in the new-birth process.
Here is what we suggest. First, pray about who you will select and form an Event Team of 5 to 10 Christian friends. Share with them this vision and have them pray about it as well. Select people that you know have a heart for the hurting and lost. We will pray faithfully for the event and trust your Team to do the same.
Bring 5 family members or friends who don’t go to church
And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.
Event Team Members will provide food for the B-B-Q. Chicken, hot dogs and/or hamburgers are fine B-B-Q fare. Salads, beans, chips, beverages and desserts are great, as well. You can work out the menu with your Event Team.
Our desire is to keep people at the event as long as possible in order to provide as much personal ministry as we can. From the time your guests arrive until Randy and Shonda begin ministering in music we are not preaching at your guests. We just ‘love’ them.
Tell people that the music is Christian Country Gospel. Once we begin to minister in music the Holy Spirit and the Anointing will do the rest.
At the end of the event, Randy Norton Ministries will provide DOOR PRIZES. Photos will be taken and posted at www.randynortonmusic.com. We will need a space for our table to display our merchandise. When you contact Randy to discuss booking your Backyard B-B-Q Tour, we will agree on a date and discuss the logistics.
