Just a few words about The King’s Trail Cowboy Church of which I am a member.

Our church is based on the basic model for Cowboy Churches.  The Texas Fellwoship of Cowboy Churches has over 200 Cowboy Churches in Texas that caters to those individuals who may not feel comfortable going to the traditional churches available to them.  Some of the people have never been in a church and some have gone and did not feel like they were welcome in their boots and jeans.

What is it about Cowboy Church that makes people feel welcome?

For some, it is the preaching. The sermons at Cowboy Church are always Biblical and relevant. We spend our time together looking into God’s word and exploring how it applies to our lives. At Cowboy Church, we are not about theory or ivory towers, but how to actually live out the faith.

For others, it’s the openness. At Cowboy Church, it doesn’t matter what you look like or where you’ve been-you will be treated like you belong. Divorced or married, black or white, Harley or horse, boots or suits-it doesn’t matter, you will be welcome at Cowboy Church. Not only that, but you will FEEL welcome here. That’s the reason a lot of folks call us the church of second chances.

Our fellowship is primarily an outreach ministry to the cowboys & country folk in our area, but our doors are open to everyone. Many of those in our congregation regularly travel to rodeos and play days, both to compete and to witness to the changes that God has made in their lives.

We are a family of cowboys and country folks that are in love with Jesus. If you are not comfortable with traditional services or maybe you have never attended church, come by and visit with us this Sunday morning at 10:30 AM or Wednesday at 7:00 PM.

What we believe…

The bible is the inspired Word of God.

God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.

Jesus Christ is the son of God. He died and rose again from the dead, and now sits on the right hand of our Father in Heaven.

Believe in baptism by full submersion.

The Holy Spirit is our comforter sent forth by Jesus Christ.

We don’t pass the offering plate.

Although we need money to operate just as any church does, we do not believe that money should become the focal point of a church. If someone’s heart leads them to give, we provide a place for them to do so. If their heart does not lead them to give, that’s alright too. We believe God will provide.

And of course, we let people come as they are.

Let’s face it. Some folks don’t have time to dress up, some folks don’t have the clothes to dress up with, and some folks wouldn’t dress up even if they could. No matter what people choose to wear, we want them to hear the gospel. So, there’s no dress code here. People are encouraged to wear whatever is comfortable to them.

None of these things are incidental or accidental. They are all designed to give the person who doesn’t know Christ an opportunity to hear the gospel. Literally hundreds of churches in our area cater to the mature Christian. We just believe there should be at least one that’s designed to reach out to those who do not yet know Christ.

Christian Country Music fits perfect in the Cowboy Church and in the Cowboy Church is were I turned from playing in bars for the world to Praising the Lord Jesus Christ.  The people relate to the melodies the style of music and best of all they hear the words that talk about the plan of savation and Jesus.

I pray that God blesses you all and that the Holy spirit inspires your music.
